Welcome Back!

Thanks for popping by to see what our February Challenges are.... After lots of thought and discussion we have decided to only do 2 challenges a month. We know you are all busy, as we are too.

We are going to keep the sketch challenge, but we are introducing a 'Pocket Page' challenge. You don't have to be doing Project Life to joining in. You can add these pages to your scrapbooking albums as well, they are great for documenting an event that you have lots of photos from, and find it hard to pick which ones to scrap.

So first up we have a Sketch Challenge from Charm.

 And her sample

I love the use of lots of embellies and journal cards on this!

And for the first 'Pocket Page' Challenge Donna has an easy one for you.... Use two different pocket page designs for a double page. Donna is doing both Project life and also documenting events for her Scrapbook albums. This one is going into her daughters album telling the story of the formal that she went to last year.

SFS has a large range of Pocket Page designs, you can find them here and here.

Add them to the linky on the sidebar by midnight ESDST on the 28th February to be in the running for a $20 SFS voucher.

(Don't forget that your pages are to be used for this challenge only)
( Winners are chosen by random draw)

Hi Scrappers,

It's Neet & today is my Wednesday to share with you all.
I've got a little video showing how to mix things up
a bit with your Project Life.

I haven't dived straight into PL, I had to warm up to it.
I've down 2 albums of my sons baby pictures & to keep it interesting I've thrown in random 12x12 layouts.

I must admit I do miss the traditional 12x12 layouts
whilst doing PL & found it fun to mix things & throw in a
bit of paint, ink & gesso at a 6x4 cards.

So grab a cuppa & take a look :)

Why not have a play & experiment a little.
You might surprise yourself ;)

Cheers, Neet xo

January Step-By-Step with Anita

January Step-By-Step with Anita
Hi there fellow scrappers!
So it's my turn this month to show you a step-by-step.
I decided to mix things up a bit this month & do an
art journal page. I'm using a Dylusions art journal.
These are great & are very sturdy.
Please be kind LOL - this was my first attempt at 'she art' styled art, & let's just say it didn't quite go to plan...

So grab a cuppa & take a look-see at the video.
*DISCLAIMER - contains cheesy 80's music PMSL

If you've loved the products I've used for this, like the Faber Castell Big Brush Markers, Dylusions art journal, Posca pen etc. Just pop on over to the SHOP or send Peta an email

Thanks for popping by - Anita :)

WOW - Playing with 5th & Frolic...

WOW - that's all I can say about the gorgeous 5th & Frolic collection!
It's so pretty and cute... and so hard to choose what to use!
For this layout I decided to pick out a few different Project Life cards in the same colour range, but really you could choose any of the cards in the range to create a FABULOUS layout...
I picked out 2 6x4's and 5 3x4's...

I had a bit of a play around with layering the PL cards until I was happy with how it was set out... the trick is to balance it out with light and dark...

I chose one that I could stick a photo on & one to journal on... and the others were for decoration...

The 6x4 above was perfect to add a photo & to add the date to - I used the Becky Higgins date stamp which I am TOTALLY addicted to atm - now that I have finally caught the Project Life bug!

This 3x4 I have cut so that I could use both sides - it worked perfectly - the "love & laughter" was exactly what I wanted to use at the bottom left, and the cute birdy and love hearts could be used to write the details on where we were at the top right...

I layered this journalling 3x4 card, added the journalling, a bit of doodling around the edge & added a Me & My Big Ideas sticker {smile}...
To finish off the layout I added doodling around the edge of the PL cards, Studio Calico Wood Veneers and buttons & twine from my stash...

I have been having a play with a couple of other layouts you can see on my blog using the 5th & Frolic Collection too!

Here's a sneak...

Hope I have inspired you to not only use your PL cards FOR Project Life, but also for traditional layouts too :)

Happy Scrapping!

Love Charmane

WOW! What a great Christmas Present!

I hope you have all had a amazing Christmas and New Year break.

Did Santa bring you something that you were dreaming about??
I was lucky enough to get what I wanted!

Yep! My gorgeous family (with the help of Santa Peta) gave me a Silhouette Cameo! I couldn't wait to get it out of the box and start playing.

Do you have a large pile of coloured cardstock that you have been hoarding over the years??

What a great way to use some of it by making your own embellishments for either your 2014 Project life albums or your layouts!

This year I have decided to get on the PL train and record our day to day lives. I won't be doing a 'week to week' album, as it will get pretty boring with just work and school, but will be documenting the 'things' that we do... so look out for lots of retreat pages coming up hee hee.

I have completed my cover page using some BH PL journalling cards and some embellishments that I made with the Cameo.

The list of files that you can download from the internet is endless!

If you are interested in one of these beauties contact Peta (peta@scrapbookingfromscratch.com)
to get more details.

Happy Scrapping
Donna xx

Creating a 6x4 Project Life Filler Card

Happy New Year SFS Friends!!

It's Kel here today, popping in to share with you how I created a simple filler card for my Project Life album.

This is the card I started with..

Next, I simply added a piece of washi..

A good way to fill a card is to use a quote or sticker...these clear stickers are a great way to do this..I simply stuck a sticker to a 3x4 card and cut it out.

Next I added a misted doily to my card..

Then added my sticker, a butterfly and some enamel dots and my card is finished!!

So why not have a go at creating your own filler cards?

Thanks for popping in for a look

Cheers
