What's on Wednesday from Donna and Peta
Last weekend we packed the shop into Barry, for our last retreat for the year, and headed off to the beautiful Stanwell Tops. The venue was fantastic, and those Scrap Girls certainly know how to run a retreat... and WOW the food was amazing!
While we were at the retreat we got a delivery of the new Simple Stories 'Daily Grind' kit.
We couldn't wait to have a play!
Here are some of our layouts that we have done, and we have lots of the kit left for many more.
You can find the kit here!

A quick step by step with Kel.....
Hello there Scrappers,
It's Kel here to share a step by step layout for you. I kept the design very basic so once you have your supplies and photo sorted, this page should not take you more than half an hour.
First, cut yourself a circle. I have just used a bowl which is approx. 6 inches wide. Trace on opposite side so you won't see the pencil marks.
Next, attach circle to your background paper, 3/4 of an inch from the left hand side, in the middle. Use another piece of patterned paper to cut a piece of paper 2 inches wide and 9.75 inches long. Snip the ends into a banner and attach over your circle.
Now, to give the page a horizontal element I have added a sticker along the bottom of the circle. You could also use a thin paper strip or washi tape. This sticker is 8.5 inches.
Now to add another layer I have used a strip of green washi tape over the banner.
Next I have matted my photo which is a 6 x 4 landscape..(do not attach photo to page yet.)
Grab a doily or small circular element and add under the top right hand side of the photo.
Now it's time to embellish... I have added a chipboard piece to the top right hand side and the bottom left of the photo to balance the page.
Now to add movement and give a little extra detail I have used a mask to add some stars around my page. You could also use mist splatters.
Lastly, I have added my title, then added journalling strips to the left of the photo...and you are FINISHED!!
So why not give it a go...a very quick way to get one more of your memories down on paper. Would love to see what you come up with :)
Cheers
Kellie x

WOW - Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky & my LOVE of Masks & Templates continues...!
Hello! It's Charmane here with you again on this lovely Wednesday...
and today I thought I would share my continuous obsession with my LOVE of
masks/templates/stencils...
masks/templates/stencils...
this time I wanted to showcase this one
You can purchase the
Studio Calico Sundrifter -
Huey's Mask 8x8 - 2 Step Stencil
I've created TWO new layouts using this stencil today...
although I've really given it a workout already...
As you can see from the photo above!!!
OK, so this is how I use the stencil...
I smear modelling paste with a spatula
... going over the edges so that it looks like this when you peel it off...
... going over the edges so that it looks like this when you peel it off...
I've then grabbed a heat gun to dry it quickly
{so that I can keep on going!}
{so that I can keep on going!}
Usually I would sew with my sewing machine last, but have found it is better to machine sew before the next step... which is...
giving a few sprays of Mister Huey's White Mist...
{you can grab some HERE}
I grab the heat gun again to dry it out as much as possible...
And this is how I create my background for this layout using the fabulous kit!
SFS Designer Kit - Fancy Pants Happy Go Lucky - DT Kit Nov
Grab it HERE!
Click on the images for a closer look...
I just love all of the "bits" in this kit!
The alpha stickers are perfect for long titles or quotes, you can mix it up a bit.
The tags, tickets, ephemera, brag pad and stickers... oh and the buttons and chipboard too!
ALL perfect to layer & mix & cluster - everything that I love on a layout!
It's absolutely chockers!!!
The other layout I have created today was this one...
This time I have used Heidi Swapp Color Shine Spritz {which dries very quickly!}...
Grab yours HERE & there's more in the What's NEW Section too!
and then I have smeared modelling paste
over the stencil
I've used a heat gun again to dry the modelling paste quickly...
this time I have outlined the stencil circles roughly with black pen..
I have used some twine to create a flag banner using the Fancy Pants Flag stickers from the kit...
..
I hope I've inspired you with both using templates/masks and also to grab one of these gorgeous kits!!! I am in the middle of another layout using bits from the kit...
I wonder what this could be for???
Happy Scrapping Everyone!

Sn@p! It's Wednesday!
It's WOW time again!
I recently became an Aunty to a gorgeous little boy, my sisters first child.
I was racking my brain trying to decide what to give him as a present to celebrate his birth, something that he can keep forever.
I am sure we all had a 'baby' book that we recorded all of our children's mile stones in???
And the scrapbooker in me decided to do something that I love, to make something special for him.
And then the idea was born
(pardon the pun, hee hee) to make him a
Sn@p album that was personalised just for him.
I have used some Beccy Higgins Project Life Mini Kit 'Baby Edition for Him Journal Cards
http://www.scrapbookingfromscratch.com/all-things-project-life/project-life-becky-higgins/project-life-mini-kit-baby-edition-for-him-100-pc-pk.html |
And I have added some Sn@p Baby Boy 3 x 4 cards
http://www.scrapbookingfromscratch.com/whats-new-en/snp-baby-boy-snap-3x4-cards.html |
I have used a variety of Page Protectors through out the album to break it up.
|
I found making the album was great for using up lots of those embellishments that we all have in our stash, and I also pulled out lots of baby stamps that I have kept stashed from the 'old days' when I was a card maker.
So here is a small share of what I have done recently.
I have added post it notes through out 'telling' my sister what photos to put in the pockets lol
Dividers for each month of his little life.
And some pages ready to embellish.
Sorry for not having this up yesterday.... blogger wasn't playing very nice :/
Thanks for popping by.
